Descriptive analysis of population characteristics of dogs and cats with suspected chronic kidney disease (CKD)
This was a pilot project to look at the feasibility of gathering data from across the world from dogs and cats presenting to veterinarians in practice with a suspected diagnosis of CKD. A request was made through Novartis Animal Health Field representatives for practitioners to submit cases to the database using the on-line facility created for IRIS. This facility allowed entry of all data necessary for classification of the case according to the IRIS Staging Algorithm.
This allowed an initial examination of the value of this diagnostic classification to practitioners and to see what patterns emerged within the two species. A report is available below, based on the first 921 cases submittedThis was a pilot project to look at the feasibility of gathering data from across the world from dogs and cats presenting to veterinarians in practice with a suspected diagnosis of CKD.
